Luree S. Hodges
June 10, 1925 - July 8, 2010

Newington - Luree Stafford Hodges, age 85, died Thursday, July
8, 2010 at East Georgia Regional Hospital in Statesboro. She was born in Screven
County and was retired from the White Stag Mfg. Co. She was a member of Blue
Springs United Methodist Church as well as the Screven County Marine Rescue
Squad. She served as the HUD representive for the HUD Commissioners. She was
preceded in death by her Husband: Robert Madison Hodges; Son: Henry Hodges;
Parents: William Jefferson "W.J." and Lozzie Ola Williams Stafford.
Survivors: Daughters and Sons-In-Law: Juanita H. and Earnest Yearwood of
Milledgeville, GA, Elise H. and Freddie Deal of Statesboro and Shelby H. and
Ricky Scott of Sylvania; Sons and Daughters-In-Law: Billy and Lanette Hodges and
Bobby and Norma Jean Farmer, all of Newington; Sisters and Brother-In-Law:
Mattie Bell S. and Gene Dutton of Glennville, GA and Maudeen S. Findley of
Savannah; Brother and Sister-In-Law: Warren "Spike" and Christie Stafford of
Sylvania; 20 Grandchildren; 35 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren;
Several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation: Friday, July 9, 2010 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at
Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.
Funeral Services: Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Blue Springs United
Methodist Church with Rev. Henry Bazemore, Jr. and Rev. Steve Purnell
officiating. Burial at Blue Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Steve Clark, Carroll Shifflett, Albert Perkins, Sidney Jenkins,
Paul Leeder, Donnie Harley and T.W. Evans.
